Raced a Firebird convertible

He was auto, 00-02 model, male driver mid 40s. He had aftermarket exhaust. I dunno if trans-am or not but from zero to 80 he put 5-cars on me.
My car feels sluggish off the line I can barely chirp the tires,is this normal, I got Dunlop A2s, wtf? and I got ypipe/bpipe/midpipe/crackpipe in the car. Looks like I'll be calling PFI soon.

should have just titled that ur car was slow, also probably all the weight of the crack pipe is slowing you down. how many miles you have?

well, the noise factor would be a dead give away for an LS1 v8... stock is a good deal quieter. also, u shouldnt feel remotely bad about getting beating by a firebird

Honestly, my guess is that it was a modded v6. I think the v8 would have slaughtered you by a lot more than 5 car lengths. If it didn't say "Formula" somewhere on the car, it was the v6. Unless he debadged it but..

It was v8 for sure I could tell from the sound. His license plate also had a remark about LS1. I think I jumped on him at first as he didnt expect me to pull on him from red light, and we shut off around 80 so if we continued he could put more distance.

I guess I'm just not used to losing, not by a huge margin.
Anyways, there will always be a faster car out there...

yeah I knew I was gonna lose but it felt pretty good racing a V8 300+hp car. BTW I can smoke 94-96 mustang GTs, if they are auto.

Its one of those things I never measured...

Remember 95s can be factory freaks (mine is built in 94) plus I have some mods. I normally race teg, A4, golf, focus. I lost to a WRX once from roll to 90 by 2-3 cars... I think HAI is hurting my launches.
