Possible ignition switch or wiring problem, help?

Ok I did a search and found nothing along the lines I am having problems with. For a few months now the car just sits there and does nothing when you go to start it and then a few seconds later it starts. My gut tells me it is a contact or wiring problem in the switch in the key ignition or maybe the brake pedal switch. But I wanted to run this by the forum and see if anyone knew for sure before I start replacing stuff at random.

Just to go over what I have said before, I put the key in the ignition press the brake pedal down turn the key and nothing happens for a second or two then the car starts. This happens about half the time I try to start the car.

Thanks
