keyless remote entry question...

My car came back from the shop today, and while it was gone I got a keyless entry. I tried setting it up with the installations on the FAQ but it did not work. any ideas of why not? I have a 98 SE and the FCC ID on the remote is : A269ZUA078 and the ISC is 700 K1359. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Do you have a Security light next to your Cruise Control? Maybe the battery in the remote is dead or you didn't program it right

No stock alarm for you then

Get an aftermarket alarm

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE as well, and does not have a security light. I tried programming it with the instructions but does not work. I thought that all of the Nissan Maxima's came with the keyless entry remote, didn't they?

If you go "appraise" your car at edmunds.com, you'll see the alarm and keyless entry were optional. I never bought a brand new Maxima so I don't know what the package is called, but you had to buy it when you bought the Max.

It comes standard for GLEs so no problem for me

No prob Just get an aftermarket one since it's way better than stock. Put in a car starter while you're at it
