Vehicle Accident.
Sunday I was involved in a fender bender, here's how it went down.
If anybody is familar with San Antonio you know these idiots do not comprehend the purpose of a yield sign. It is not to stop if nothing is coming but to make merging into traffic easier. I was on San Pedro Ave heading south and jumped onto the access road of loop 410 eastbound. The guy in front of me stops at the yield sign, no biggy. Then he goes. Since the access road is part of a clover-leaf design I had to look over my left shoulder to check for oncoming traffic. No cars coming, so I start to go. That idiot stopped in the middle of the lane for NO reason. I say again, No reason. There was no oncoming traffic. So my front passenger side bumper hits his rear driver side bumper. His car must have been dry rotted or something because his bumper almost shattered, like it was shot with a 45 or something. The only damage to da max, 4 scatches below the passenger side head light. I called my insurance company, GEICO and some witch in claims allegedly assists me. I try to explain that this guy just stops in the middle of the highway for no reason, I mean how can I realisticaly be at fault. She wasnt hearing any of it and just stuck to her script, you hit him from behind, you are at fault. At least I told them to alert the adjuster about this guys bumper because I feel if it is dry rotted a dog could of farted on it and it would have fell off. Holla.

That sucks. I know that intersection really well (I used to take 281 / San Pedro to 410 Westbound and it's the same situation there as well). The fact that its a poorly designed merge lane doesn't help wither.
However, I have to agree with the insurance on this one, if you hit a car from behind, it is going to be considered your fault as far the liability goes.

I know about the liability from hitting someone from behind, I guess I am frustrated because the intersection sucks, and there should be some consideration paid to the fact that you have to look over to left to see and he just stops. Its enuff to give you grey hairs.
