wats best way to paint trunk lock?

wats best way to paint trunk lock?

i had my trunk lock painted body color from a body shop , a month later after i washed it , it chipped away , any good ideas to paint it, will paining from a body shop always chip it bc its on metal , or should i go back n kick his ***

its because it wasnt preped correctly before painted. its not because its metal- your car is metal too so I dont see the reason.

Use body color touch up paint from the dealer. It's pretty cheap.

It may chip again but oh well.

I want to know this as well. I have a bunch of little scratches around my keyhole. I painted the ring but it kinda runs and dosent look even. I also need to find some clearcoat to make it look better.

I imagine if you would primer it first, then paint it and put a clear coat on it ,then it may last a little longer. You could use touch up paint but you may be better off by getting paint from paintscratch.com and using the spray can to do several thin caots.

after doing what flavor247 says, i'd then only use the trunk popper if you have one (lucky if you do!) or use the lever inside the car and avoid using the key in it. that would keep it nice and chip free...

Hmm

IMO the keyhole should either be removed all together by a body shop, or left alone. Painting it doesn't do too well of a job hiding the lock and it makes the trunk look kind of sloppy.
