I used a clay bar and Zymol. You'll be happy with the results. Good luck!

yeah the perfect answer: water, soap, and a little elbow grease- does wonders, dont buy all those expensive products, soap water and elbow grease work the same

Several Suggestions...

.....I have tried several products including Zymol, Mothers, Griot's Garage and Meguier's (sp?). They are all really good products and I always end up going back to Mothers California Gold Carnuba Wax. If it has been a while you might need to polish before waxing, and if you really have the time, you should use the clay bar. I have used a polisher and done it by hand and even though the polisher is easier on the arms, I think doing it all by hand produces better results. Just pop in your favorite CD and take your time.

having worked in the detail biz before, i can tell you right now that you could go out and buy all the gimmicky wax products under the sun, but the end result will be just a lot less money in your pocket, follow these steps and you'll be just fine, first begin with a good wash, no drive thru car washes, good old fashined bucket washing at home works the best, any car wash will do(i use zip wax),and oh yeah buy yourself a sheepskin wash mitt, nothing works better in protecting your paint and removing all the contaminants off of the paint, just remember to keep the mitt clean, wash from top to bottom and don't allow the soap to dry on you, after you've given it a good wash, dry with a large bath towel, before you apply polish you must first clean and wax the paint, any cleaner/wax liquid works fine,(i use 3m),avail. at any paint supply store, after this step then you can apply your polish to the vehicle, again any type will acheive the same results, apply the polish then remove with chessecloth, after all polish is removed,go over once again with a new piece of cloth and buff to a shine.you should reach your desired results with these steps,if not you may need to have your vehicle professionally buffed, either that or repeat these steps like twenty-some times,a detail shop will generally charge from 80-100$ to buff a car the size of a max.hope this helps.

I agree with Morris. A good quality Carnuba based wax is the best thing since sliced bread.

Hey dude, I have used everything out there and get the best brilliant shine with a pure carnauba wax. I personally use Mother's California Gold at only $4.00 to $5.00 bucks. Only draw back with carnauba is you will have to wax more often because it is not as durable as synthetic waxes but the shine is well worth it. Good luck!

You have not used everything yet. You have not tried Zaino. Until you try Zaino, there is nothing that compares to the shine, protection, and how long it lasts. Chad on this board has a good write up. I have used MANY MANY waxes, and used professional grade protectants. Also have a friend that details cars for a living, and he is a professional detailer. My car looks as good as his with ZAINO without highspeeding your car every few months. Carnuba wax, (all it basically is, a oil that is layed on the surface of the paint, that makes it shine and reflects good but distorted. Zaino is a sythetic type of polish/protectant. It brings the real life out of your paint, metalic shines ALOT more, pearl will be real pearly! Nothing compares, it is the best IMHO. Until you try it, don't say its not.

I used Zymol cleaner wax and then used the Zymol Carbon paste wax and my car looks like it rolled of the production line. It is relativley easy to use the cleaner wax but the carbon wax was easy but hard, you have to do it a section at a time and don't let it dry, to take it off you have to wipe it off once and it will look like you just rubbed the was in which you did, twice which gets part of it off to where it looks spotty, the third time all of it will buff of, and of course a fourth time to get rid of all that dust. You will not be sorry with the results, my car is black and you all know how difficult it is to keep black paint looking new, mine had plenty of swirl marks and they are all gone now just be patient and you will be amazed with the results.

I had my own detailing buisness and have tried numerous waxes and polishes. The best thing I have used that was easy to apply and take off was zaino. Meguires is ok but is really hard to get off. It always leaves something on the paint. A good thing about zaino is that you can apply it in any weather and apply it to any surface on your car. I would use it on my trim my wheels the bumpers and it made the car look great. Then if you finish it with the showroom spray, it will make your paint look flawless and the more you use it the less you'll see scratches and swirl marks. I always found that mothers california gold was really good with the clay bar and the detail finishing spray. Zymol is really great too and is the was I used for the longest before I discovered zaino. The way to get the best shine out of your car with any polish or wax is to apply it from front to back and not in a rotating motion cause the way the light will reflect off the paint from applying it from from the front to back will shine a lot more. The only problem with zaino is that it doesnt come in a very big bottle and you have to specialy order it. Another important thing is make sure you use white 100% cotton made in the usa towels to apply and take off the wax otherwise you'll get swirl marks. Hope this helps
