headlight/foglight replacement bulbs and questions

I have wanted to get new headlights and foglights for my 98. I do not want to get a HID kit. I found these:

Headlights: http://orderxenarc.sylvania.com/orde...C=104200322649

and these...

Foglights: http://orderxenarc.sylvania.com/orde...NC=10420032284

Does anyone have any experience with these? Looks? Brightness? Are they worth the $90ish for all of it? Also, has anyone bought from Sylvania before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

They are good bulbs, a nice balance between looks and light output, its really either one or the other unless you go HID so its really up to you. You could get some xtravisions for the most (more or less) light output, or get some blue coated bulbs for more color. The silverstars are basically in the middle.

I have silverstars in the headlights, and they're good bulbs, I would recomend them, I assume the fogs are just as good, but I never tried them. They weren't out yet when I changed my bulbs them, so I got a different kind. I will be interested to know how the fogs are when you get that setup.

just a warning, most aftermarket blue or white bulbs are relly pathetic while driving in the rain. They are really bad...

for the fogs go PIAA most def. for headlamps.. i have Xtravisions.. they put out great light but they are still yellow halogens. i hear Coolblues from Sylvania the same makers of Xtravsions are not bad either..plus they probably match up with the PIAAs and the Polargs a little better.
i compare my lighting setup with most people on the road and mine are by far a brighter and wider beam pattern.. not comparing with HIDs of course.
the rewired corner lamp trick gives it the UFO effect you light up 390 degrees of the road ahead. plus you got all these bright lights coming at you. heads, fogs, corners and markers. i think rewiring the blinkers to be on all the time would be overkill.

i have heard a lot of mixed feedback about Silverstars.. i didn't want to blow the money on them and not be happy.. i think Coolblues are like Silverstars for a fraction of the price.

I blew 75 bucks on PIAA Extreme Whites, and I am quite happy with them. At night, they light up signs like no other, and I barely use my high beams anymore. I'll get the occaisional flasher during oncoming traffic, but I just flash back

I also have the PIAA Xtreme White fogs, yet to be installed... I still have to fix my clear corner that decided to jump from my car on the mass pike

i have the PIAA extreme whites fogs and heads, paid 50 for each pair shipped. The fogs rock, they're even brighter than the headlights. Same as above, I get some flashes even during the daytime! But they don't look illegal and they're pretty bright at night.

Might as well save all the money you're going to waste on halogens and just get HIDs...otherwise you are throwing your money away...

Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it. I'm going to think about it. Tony, what kit do you have in your car? Any other input is still welcome. Thanks again.

I recommend Euro Dezigns 5200K Xenon Bulbs. You can get them on ebay for less than 20 dollars shipped. I've been told by many people that my headlights look as nice as they've seen w/out being hid's. Lifetime Warranty too.

i have silverstars..they are a clean white. no blueish. i think blue is a lil ricey unless its real hid. light output wise, the silvers star lack a lil bit. they dont light up te road as well as i had hoped but still better than stock. but i got the 65 w. i think they have an 85w one that may be better. but with the yellow fogs i light up the road jsut fine.. pics on my homepage if you wanna see what the silverstars look like.

you're right, they are pretty yellow for the fogs and the heads don't look bad. Thanks for the pics tho, gives me an idea. I am looking for more of a blue look or clean white on both.
