2 days ago when I went to start the car this wining noise came out, It sounds like it somewhere where the timing chain is, but I can hear it more when im inside the car when its idling.When I drive I can't hear it only when it comes to a stop and idling. if anyone had this problem or might know what it is please help, thanks

 

Sorry i forgot to say its 97 maxima automatic

 

Maybe the idler pulley bearing is dead, timing chain shouldnt go dead, only the tensioner.

 

bad alternator? do any lights get brighter as u rev?

 

Yes, the lights get brighter when I rev, but only the speedometer lights, not the radio lights, but I replaced an alternator like 4 months ago, could it go bad again?

 

Was it an AutoZone one? Some people got the lifetime warranty AutoZone ones and they had to replace it twice, but 4 months seems to short. Go to AutoZone and have them test it for free

Check your belts too.

 

Yes it was the alternator, its from canadian tire but it was under warranty so I got it replaced for free only paid for labour, thanks for all your help
