Schizo starter...

Alrighty...so the past couple days, I noticed when I started the car that the starter didn't sound as fast as it normally does--like the battery was slowly dying. Tonight after I gassed up the car, she just ever so slightly turned over, like the battery was 8 or 9/10 dead but all the lights inside were fine...newer battery. It did this for about 3-4 key twists. Then, on the last attempt, it sounded completely normal and spun as fast as it did when I got a new battery a few months ago and I was off on my way. Anyone experience something like this or have suggestions on things to check?

Sounds like your starter is on its way out. Often they drag before they die.

Grrrr...that sucks if that's the case. The car only has 99K miles on it. I didn't consider this a possiblity since a couple cars I've owned in the past had much higher mileage and original starters.
