New Max
I have a question. First off, the post http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=256858 got me thinking about a few things. I don't own a maxima yet, but I am thinking about getting one soon. I joined the forum to see if i could find out more and answer a few questions that i did have. The post mentioned above made me think about what I want to do with my max. I want to get a 99 maxima GLE, and I'd like to also get a skyline body kit. Now here comes the question:
Which would be more cost effective, buying a 99 in a color i don't like for about 1-2k less, and paint the entire car and body kit, or do a little more searching, find one in black, and just paint the kit and fix any dents or scratches? I don't know much about paint and whatnot, esp. on a sedan (I own a SUV, much larger).
Thanx!

here my input:
a good paint job is $4000 more if you get some nazzy 2 tone faded crazy colored stuff. if you stripped, sanded, pulled bumps, and bondo'd what you could/wanted it would be cheaper probably bout a grand or so off the price. you can't paint it yourself no matter what other's say unless you have experience or a good friend, and even then i don't believe its near the quality of a good shop. if i were you, i'd buy a white or black. i waited and got my black on black gle and i love it well worth my extra month without a car while i searched. what color interior you looking for? a good shop can match the paint for your body kit. skyline is really hot, get the urathane(sp?) front bumper. also i'd paint my tezzas if i had the kit. also search for teh AE headlight mod. it's hot too... i ramble
good luck,
torgus
ps you'll like you max more then your SUV =]

if i was u, id look more for a car thats in good condition and has low miles. i would worry less about the paint
i wanted a black on black with low miles near my house. i was all worrying about bad paint and dents and blah blah. after lots of searching, something decent popped out of no where and went on sale 1 mile away from my house and i got it. it was a sterling mist on black leather with 25k miles in EXCELLENT CLEAN condition except 1 dent next to gas lid. yea it wasnt black but it was so close to what i wanted, sometimes u gotta settle down with something good that comes by and start from there.

u like any of those?
IMO get a SE with sunroof, so u can buy better leather later on. nissan leather is not the greatest. also in a SE u get Fogs and a spoiler
