Knock sensor code and wierd idling.

Ok so I have been having some wierd idling problems lately so I was using my multimeter to check my TPS.

The car will idle high and when I step on the gas pedal and release it the idling goes down.

I first checked the TPS and here was the reading I was getting from my multimeter:
without the gas pedal pressed it was coming up as around ~950 OHMS
which seems high.
At WOT it was coming up at ~4000 OHMS which I believe is correct at WOT.

I forgot to write down the exact numbers...

I check a little later and with the gas pedal pressed i was getting a ~460 OHMS reading.. Does anyone know what the reason can be that it was a higher reading when I first took it?
FYI: This test was taken with the car off and the car was warmed up.

I am also having some hesitation issues. I went to check for ECU codes and I am getting a knock sensor code. Can this have anything to do with idling or does this seem like a TPS problem?

Thanks,
Mike

Check the reading on the KS, it should be like 550k. If the KS code is the only code from the ECU, then your KS is probably bad.

TPS: http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/tps.html

Make sure you are running premium fuel (are you using premium now???) and do the KS resistor mod. If it solves your problem, then your KS is definitely the only problem If not, then you have some other problem and the KS problem Good luck

Was your ECU throwing a code for KS?
