YUP its weekend and time to talk about races.

So at 11:30 tonight (saturday) i head out looking for some desert and yummy food for my maxima to eat (civics,integras u know).

there is this place like 8 miles away from my house, all the teenagres and people with souped up and fast cars hang out at. so i start heading there to see what cars will be there tonight. 5 minutes after i head out, i find my first victim. i was going north and i see these sky blue headlights in mirrior and it looks like civic's headlight ! so i slow down to see who is driving it and what kinda car it is. the car is in the lane to the left of me and i see a BIG A$$ spoiler on this thing, one of those riced out big big ones that reach up to the roof! so i preapare myself and get ready to let em know that i mean businnes, as soon as he gets next to me, i put it in N and go vrooooooooom ( i got autotragic) and the funny thing is that the civic slams right on the brakes and falls behind by 2 cars, i guess he got excited. so anyway, i wait for his *** to catch and he comes right next to me. there are 3 people in the car (driver included). its a white 95-96 civic EX( it had orange lights in back, no si badges or rims) with spoiler and exhaust. all 3 of em look under 17, some newbies who just got their lisence and think they are all that. so the passenger nods at me and i nod back. i wait to see if he has the ***** to mess with me and i see no response from him but all of a suddent i see his *** go WOT and get ahead of me and start gainig a few cars on me. and also white smoke comes from exhaust. so i was like "oh no u didnt". he slows down and changes lanes and gives me room to come next to him, i come next to him and look at him and laugh. i wait for him to see if he does it again and boom right after 10 sec he goes WOT and right away i floor the **** outta max and guess what?? in matter of few seconds i have 2 cars on his *** and see him getting farther and farther. i slow down and let him catch up. he comes next to me and the passenger from the back sticks his head outta the window and goes " YOU WANNA RACE FOR MONEY? meanwhile the drivier keeps changin gears and i hear this small pssh sound( i guess its got some turbo). i answer back: "what u got under the hood? im fully stock with automatic" the driver goes "whats under the hood stays under the hood" and i ask him to give me a run again to see whats up. passenger counts and we both go WOT. but this time i get 1 car on his ***. anyway he comes back next to me and goes "u want to race for money" and i go: i just beat u 2 times in a row, u want to lose some cash? but again i hear the following "u wanna race for money?" and i ask him again about what he has under the hood and i get no response. so i again say taht im automatic and fully stock and he goes "so, ur quick. lets go for money"

we get to a red light and i ask him to go on green, green comes up and i do a big *** burnout and take off flying up to 80. by this time i had like 10 cars on his *** ( he obviously didnt go for it). i wait for his *** again and he comes next to me and i go "wtf dude, u need some ***** man, and the passenger again goes "u want to race for money?" and i go, no man i got no cash leave me alone puss. and he goes " if u dont wanna race for money then why u try to race people?" and im like "wtf r u talking about" then i make a turn and head different direction.

this riced out civic EX was very nice kill for the night, but the driver needs some *****. im sure he had some **** under the hood cuz i heard a small pssh durin gear change! im not sure about the whole race for money thing, i guess he really had some **** under the hood and didnt wanna let me know or he just used it as an excuse to make up for his 3 losses. i wouldnt wanna mess with that ***** again, 3 times of *** whoopin was more than enough for me. so what yall think? he had big mods or what?

 

if u beat him that many times shouldve raced him for money haha

 

but here is what i think, he let me win to steal my money later on. i swear i heard some PSHHHH( blow off valve) a few times. it wasnt that loud but it was noticeable & maybe it was just changin gears. and cmon, he aint stupid to race for cash after 3 losses!

 

good call man, i'm thinking after losing 3 times and still wanting to race for money he had something under his hood and he wasnt going all out on ya. if you were some other cocky teenager you would be feeling all good would say "yeah, lets race for some money" and then get killed when the guy goes all out.

a civic is no kill : if u can't beat a civic like 100% of the rest of the board u need to think long and hard about yourself and ur manly hood lol

 

hey if a civic has ***** to mess with a maxima, then why not be proud of handin their *** to them? and besides, most civics out there are modded.

cuz its a civic, go race a prelude base model with a 5 speed and see how u get ur *** handed to you

 

hell no i never lost to a prelude you gotta be real slow to lose to that i did one with intake headers and exhaust.all i got is intakeand exhaust(5-speed)

you are a modded 5speed. hes a stock auto. prelude 5speed would beat on him, especially on the highway. there are many many people running mid to high 14's in preludes with intake, exhaust, pully. or headers.

doggy: he was trying to hustle you. its the old bait and collect. he lets you win to make you think that you can take him, then he offers money. you are smart for not excepting. theres a 99% chance that if you would have agreed you would hear that pssssh sound a lot louder. that means turbo and turbo civic usually is > than auto stock maxima. plus if he is turbo he very well may have had an engine swap, like integ. ls (very common swap) that was more than likely a 13-14sec car. u just have to be careful, when trying to pick races like you did you will come across people who will not tell you what the have, and then walk you for your $$

btw: its probably not smart to drive around looking for street races. those things should just happen. (in a safe area, a known safe spot, or even better a track)

Actually, my friend who drives a civic, knows quite a bit about maximas...cant stereotype them all...




How about a B16B swapped hatch with LSD tranny, cams, headers, cam gears, intake, exhaust...and top it off with a 75shot...

Unfortunately a civic isnt always an easy kill. Too many people have that stereotypical thought that every civic is slow...

Civics are either crazy fast or as slow as christmas...... but that sounds like a hustle.

I would think an auto max and a civic with a few mods might be a more even race - but to get 10 cars or whatever seems like he was letting you think you'd stomp him. Good job anyways, you got to trash him AND keep your money !

 

didn't you say he had a few passengers with him? That could make a huge difference if it was driver vs driver you know.

Secondly, how can you not tell if he was going wot???? If your car is stock, it's really quiet. And if he has exhaust, you can definitely tell if he is going wot. cmon now. Everyone here is familiar with that sound. It's like a bunch a f***ing bees in a can.lol

i used to own a 94 accord with an h22a4 engine + tranny (prelude 97+)
and it ran in the mid 14s, but i still belive that with a lot less money invested in my max. i will be considerably faster than my accord...

 

i agree with that. if anything, the stereotype has helped there sleeper status. now anyone that sees a civic with exhaust thinks its a slow POS, but if they are boosted or swapped, they make the other guy look stupid.

i have many friends with civics running good times.
hatch - cams, gsr swap, new tranny, good tires, bolt ons = 14.2

ex coupe - bolt on's, clutch, flywheel, 75 shot= 14.5

ex coupe - bolt on's, turbo= 14.8 @ 7psi

hatch - bolt on's, turbo, cams, 50shot= 13.9

AND MY FAVORITE. some filipino guy around 20years old, 96' ex hatch, looks stock except for 16" wheels, tints, exhaust, and drop.

gsr tranny, gsr motor, ball bearing turbo, bolt on's, cams etc..
runs high 12's as an everyday car. he has beaten ws6's, z28's, 360hp nova. and thats at only 6psi of boost, his car is capable or near 20psi, but he cant hook up traction over 6-7psi. man that thing has crazy top end!

and these are just people that go to my school, or live around me.
of course we have people with automatic, non-vetec, and a catback and wheels that think they run 13's, but infact they run 17's.

turbo civic exhausts arnt too loud..thats how i can always tell...

 

yeah my friend's got a 95 civic hatch with gsr swap, internals, boosted, exhaust and is a daily driven car. With slicks he runs 11s.
