Mpg
I got 469 miles out of my 96 SE 5 speed with 105,000 on it, that trip had very little ac use and a lot of shifting at 2500 rpms and getting into 5th gear at like 40mph, you will find that if you use that technique, you will get great gas mileage.

500
Got 460 once for a tank - about 30 miles a gallon.
Just measured and I got 23 mpg with mixed city and highway driving.
I've done everything imaginable to get better performance (tune-up type stuff) excpet pull the intake manifold and clean carbon build up. when I get some time, it's my next project.

Damn! I must drive crazy! Well, I do acually but uhhh, I get around 270-320 Miles per tank. I'm always halling @ss though, its all City driving no/barely highway. It's Crazy traffic here in Florida, so, to get some were fast is a combination of Weaving and Halling @ss, And that i do good. Also, I love racing. Anybody else out there with the Need for ......................Spray?

I used 89 octane arco mid grade on that 469 mile tank full, if your concervative with the gas pedal, your mpg will go up, you just have to have the dicipline to want to do it because you know sometime you pull up to a light and see some guy in their car that thinks its all that and you just want to show them your taillights, its hard!

I am with you Zero...
I do mostly in-town driving, and I drive it pretty hard. I get about 360-365 to a tank(right at about 20 mpg.).
I think the older ones get a little better because they are not quite as heavy. Also, I have an SE, and they are heavier than the GXEs.
I just use 87 octane, by the way. If you don't have any performance parts, there is no need to run more than that. If it is stock...just use regular.

Yo BruDaddy, Man i was watching the History channel, they were talking all about the Gasoline and its progress, then they started to talk about the Octane levels, remember them saying that 87 Octane kills your Engine and it is more likely to Stall because of ignition timing and a few other things. I am pretty sure i am not the only one who knows about the whole Octane Level thing. 93 is clearly better at Explosion time/ignition, thus better for your Engine and easyier on your Cylinders. If you don't belive me do some research. but im just trying to look out for you big dawg.

Well, Brudaddy, when you get 469 on a tankful, let me know. The engine produces enough torque to allow the car to pull from 1000rpm in 5th gear, that is the impressive thing about the motor in our cars. So Brudaddy, I rarely "bog" my motor. Maybe I can try your method and get over 500 miles on a tank? BTW, you can stuff a lot of gas into the gas tank in our cars way past when the trigger clicks, I ve actually got 18.3 gallons onto my tank once.

yeah.. try to stick with 93 octane... but anyways... 90% of the people on this thread is getting better gas milage than me... boo hoo.... this sux!
