Feedback from Frankencar intake owners

Hey everyone. I've read the FAQ's about intakes, and it sounds like I should get the frankencar intake. I have a 97 automatic, and definately don't want to loose any power. This would be my first performance mod, and I would like to get some feedback from anyone who has this particular intake. Down the road I plan on putting in a y-pipe. So...like it?...hate it? Let me know. Thanks.

stock hacked air box, no loss in low-end torque. Look for DAVE B, he has many threads about this. H even went to the track and all the intakes were almost identical...

If you dont want to lose low end, i recommend not getting the frankencar intake. I have it but i'm a 5speed and I have noticed low end loss but supposedly gained high end(even though i forgot what high end felt like stock). But I do love the sound that the frankencar makes but not worth the loss in low end for everyday driving etc... I would maybe try injen CAI since some peeps say they felt minimal or no low end loss with that set up or just hack the airbox as stated above (which would save you money and just get the ypipe). Hope that helps.

I'm not sure if I lost any low end, but 4th gear is alot better, pulls real nice. The sound is sweet, turns heads like you woulden't believe

I have a 5spd with Frankencar. I like it during colder seasons. In the summer, it makes my car feel sluggish. Sounds great though
