front strut tower bar installaation prob

i just boughta a front strut tower bar and when i try to put the right brace on i cant put it down flat because theres a bump there and i bolt cant be put on and i cant close the hood, i have some pics to show you the bump.

right side

the right side plate wont lay down straight cause of the groove thats next to the handle if you can see it, i cant use the other plate and flip it around cause then it would get in the way of that bottle on top

if som1 had a 199 9maxima gle and had a close pic of there strut bar, it would help alot

I don't own a 99 but from what I remember they have a nub on the strut tower that does nothing. Grind it down and forget about it. You can do a search to be sure though, I wouldn't trust me

Congratulations! You bought a bar that only fits 95-98. Now you have 2 choices:
1. Cut off that nub that does absolutely nothing.
2. Buy a bar that can fit on a 99 (that's what I did)

Or also you might have overlooked the fact that when you remove those nuts, you can slip that little "wing" section on the bar under that nub and it all fits.

lol its thicke and would a strut bar that ha a closed of plate fit, not the opened one, any1 know?
