Anyone with a component set, where did you have your tweeters installed. On the sail, the door, or the panel along the side of the windshield? This is the front area ofcourse.

Thanx.

I got a set,

and the imaging on it sucks. They're real loud though.. Mine are in the door panel near the door locks. It's a set of Rockford Q's, so I'm kinda convinced that it ain't the positioning that's the problem. I heard fivelitrekiller's MB Quart set, and his were in the A pillar's and they sounded sooooo much better (and not harsh like people say they do)

Mine are on the door panel down near the speakers. You can see them if you click the pictures link in my sig.

Mine are in the stock SE position

I have Sony tweeters and X-overs with 6.5S Rockford Fosgate Fanatic X woofers. They are amazing. The tweeters hide behide the stock grill on the SE with the six speaker system. I bent the mounting bracket so the tweeters angle more to the driver and passenger. I'm happy with my set-up. I bought my Sony components for $80 at the local Sony Factory Outlet and I later changed the woofer with the Fosgate from my girlfriend's brother. He used his BestBuy discount to get the $275 speaker system for $100. The box was labeled 6.5 but they turned out to be 6.5S so he sold them to be for $5.

Mine are around the door handle, and the imaging is still pretty good, but imaging comes more from the mids, not the highs. they help open the soundstage more than anything. Alot of how well it images is determined by the speaker itself and how it is designed to produce the sound.

Mine are mounted behind the grilles with the 6 1/2's. Nice stealth install and the tweeters can be aimed up to help imaging.

I have MB Quarts and there are attached to the door panel.

There are two pictures on my website. I surface mounted them with the angled brackets. MB Quarts are nice because the crossovers allow you to select three different dB outputs, so that you can match the high frequencies with the midranges.
