? about CAI's

I just wanted to know if anyone knows where I can find a Place Racing CAI. If anyone has one for sale or knows where they sell them please help me out. I thought about going with an Injen but I have been told that the Injen is not even Cold Air. I have been told that it has the Cold Air Intake design but it does not get cold air because of where it is positioned. It kind of makes sense, it is positioned right in front of the radiator inbetween the engine and the radiator. So all of the air that is being sucked up into the intake is hot air from the engine, being sucked towards the radiator from the fans, so its all hot air. Whereas the Place Racing Intake is positioned in the fender well where it gets air from outside of the engine bay that is colder. I don't know if this is true or not but it kind of makes sense. Please, if anyone has any insight on this or knows anything about any of this, or can tell me anything about either one of the intakes, like maybe which one is better and what they can and can't do I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

www.warpspeedperformance.com makes their own version of the place racing. basically the same shape and design, only cheaper.

Are you sure you want an CAI, if you have stock fog lights, its a little hard for the filter get air. The hybrid intake (Place Racing upper pipe w/ a Stillen or JWT intake) gives about the best gains coming from experience at the track with just about every setup except for the Injen. I did hear the same about the Injen so I would say stay away from that, but I could be wrong because I never tested one out.

I have an Injen, i dont have any problems with it. I dont think that an intake gives you much gains so theres not really a difference between which one you get. Mine basically just makes a lot of noise.

I just bought a CAI off of ebay. I read on here they all basically do the samething, and since I'm 16 and not loaded, I went with the $50 one.

Thanks for the posting. Is there by any chance that you might be going to the track any time soon? If so, I would love to see the results of you 1/4 time. Thanks.

Ok, I noticed a definate difference, right after i put in my PR CAI. Hey one thing though, if your going to get a PR CAI, just to let you know you're going to have to move your battery over and the fuse box, and cut a hole into the Left Side fender wall.

It's differnitly worth it if your going for show, to buy a PR CAI, or just go with Injen CAI(No holes need to be cut for Injen CAI) but they cost about the same. $215.
