Anyone dislike Mobil1 full synthetic?
Don't yell at me. I did plenty of searching and just wanted a more recent response. I switched to mobil 1 full synthetic, with an AC delco filter(does anyone dislike AC delco?). I almost used a fram grippy filter, but threw that thing at the return cashier after reading some old posts.
Anyways, how is mobil 1 as compared to castrol or valvoline. Full syn of course.
Thanks for the reassurance.
1 more thing: will 10w-30 hurt as compared to 5 weight?

You might want to stick with 5w-30 if your car is fairly new->
You will get more HP and better gas milege. As with oil filter, I only use Nissan OEM or Mobil 1. If I have to get something off the shelf at my local auto parts store. I would get Purolator or AC Delco.
i just switched from mobil 1 10w-30 to mobil 1 5w-30 since its freezin up here and i dont want any problems at all... in the spring i'll be back with the 10w-30... mobil 1 filters and the purolator micron filters (the blue ones seem to be very good)
Basically the thing to look for in oil is viscosity (how long will it retain it), flash point and pour point/temp. Most synthtics are very similar in all three with better viscosity, higher flash points and lower temp pourability (for cold weather start ups). The synthetics simply offer better protection in all three areas. If you lived in a temperate climate and changed oil every 3,000 miles anyways, synthetics would be a waste of money. I live in IA and MUST use synthetics or risk engine wear in the winter b/c is is VERY cold here. I frequently have to start car when it is -10 (w/o windchill) and merge onto the highway within a 1/4 mile! Normal oil just wont flow well if at all at those temps...
