People with CAI, I got a question(not really related to CAI)

You know that sensor thing that was mounted on the stock air box(not the air filter box.) Where do you mount them now if you took the stock air box tubings out? Mine just dangles in my engine compartment, no where really to mount. Heard from a friend that this sensor might be an air bag(collosion/impact) sensor? I'm trying to figure out some way to mount this sensor onto a solid foundation and not just having it dangle there in the air. Any ideas? I don't want to have to put back part of the air box back in either. Thanks!

A little help here please! Come on, what you people with CAI do with that sensor thing if you took off the stock air box tubing? I just feel unsure about having the sensor just dangling like that.

That thing is the intake air temp sensor. Dangling is pretty much ok, you might want to tape it down. If you are really ****, you can drill a hole and mount it into your CAI, that would be the most ideal setup.

Mine just dangles. I tie rapped it so it doesn't fall into the radiator fans.

Same here
I was worried that if I was cornering or stopping suddenly, that this sensor would got somewhere it shouldn't. So I zip-tied it out of the way. It works, its simple. What ever floats your boat.

CAI mounting
When I mounted my CAI, there were 2 sensors I had to deal with. The 1st one was the at the very front, in the ram air scoop on top of the radiator. In the service manual, its called a boost controller. I just mounted it as near the radiator as possible, not anywhere near the CAI. The 2nd sensor, I think this is the one you guys are talking about is the air temp sensor, if memory serves, and my CAI came with a hole to mount it into. The part of the CAI that mounts to the throttle body that has 2 smaller tubes sticking out of it, just under those tubes there should be a hole. my hole was a little too big for the sensor so I had to improvise with 2 tie wraps and some gummy adhesive.

Hope this helps.

There is a wire harness wrapped in electrical tape on the drivers side of the valve cover, I zip tied mine to that.

The rear sensor I zip tied to the wire harness on the drivers side strut tower.

Thanks guys for the information. I feel much easier now. I guess I'll go and just zip tie it to make it more secure. I thought it was some kind of air bag sensor of some sort at first. That what worried me about having the sensor not secure onto a solid foundation. Now I'm relieved.
