Some A** Hole decided to spray paint my car tonight!!! *PICS*

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

oh i was so furious!!! i go over my friends hous for like 20 minutes and when i come back to my car i find this!!!! WTF???!!!! it wasn't even in that bad of a neighborhood! oooooo if the cops ever find this guy... so help me god!

after i found my car like this i called the cops, they came, i had to write a statement, and he took some pictures. then as soon as that was over i went right back to my house, took out a bright light, and rubbed away at the paint with alot of paint thinner. over 3 hours later, i got 98% of it off.... i will post those pics tomorrow. (to tired)

so yeah, i got most of the spray paint off, but now my black paint is all dull and has lots of sreaks/swirls. i have to get out there tomorrow and wash/wax/buff it to try and make it better. i just wanted to cry. *sigh* well here are the pics...

If you are lucky, a clay bar will take all of that off. It'll take a lot of time, but i've spray painted my car a few times pretty good because of poor masking(w/ black paint on a white car) and i've gotten it all off with clay.

they only look small because i am not lowered anymore... and the tires i have now are a size "40" for a side wall instead of a "45"... but they are 17 inch rims...

Sorry about your car.

Fwiw, paint thinner is not a great idea for that task. A little too harsh & not enough lubrication on the surface while you're rubbing (that's what caused the swirl/scratch marks)

A better idea would be to use a polish like Meguire's or Mother's & then finish with a cleaner wax. This will allow you to remove the contaminants safely from the surface without further damaging the paint.

(If polish doesn't take the spray paint off, I'd then use the clay bar - they do work wonders)

Ive had my car markerd on by freind, but thats only cause I taped up Boxes on his car to make it look ricey, used the wrong tape and it ended up peeling his paint, so he markerd my headlight, I used a pencil eraser to take it off, then I bought the guy some touch up paint,

But damn!!! They hated on your max man!!! Find then and make them breath in some spray paint!!!!!

I do not have any enemys... at all. But... when i broke up with my ex-g/f, all her friends wanted to come after me, and they know where i live/what car i drive. in fact my ex called some people and one of her friends admitted that he did send some one over to my car a spray paint it about 1 month back, but he never did it... and the kid is not making any promises that his friend didn't do it this time.

but that will never hold up if i tell the cops. (which i plan to.) unfortunetly they can not go by hersay, i need an acutall wintess or for some one to confess. (no going to happen)

my life is so horrific right now. when is it ever going to get better.

i called home depot, and they told me to use paint thinner... but i had to wipe it on in a fast back and forth motion, and do so lightly.

i tryed that, but it didn't work. so i pressed really had and it eventually came off... but it took alot of work.i forgot to wear gloves and my hands tingled for 2+ hours after i was done.

but i got to get out there and wash/polish/wax/buff so i can hopefully restore my paint. *sigh* it is so crappy outside.

That would have ****ed me off big time.

As somebody suggested, use a clay bar to take the spray paint off. Spray paint woun't stick to your cars finish, especially if you have some wax on there. It will require some time, but it will all come off.

Well, after doing the 3 step maguires program, my paint is looking pretty decent. but when i was taking off the paint last night, i couldn't really see so i missed some over spray. but it is not to notaceable... kinda looks like i have black metalic paint.... but only on half the car... lol. and there are a few spots that are kind bad, like the cracks for the gas door. (didn't even think to pop it.) i'll take some pics later.

Oh man I hate to see pointless vandalism like this, especially on a maxima. Glad to see that you somewhat removed the spary paint Blkmax95c. I say get some of your friends together and find the guy that was supposed to do it a month ago cause that's probably your culprite. Then take a baseball bat to him and show him a world of hurt. Then make him say ahhhh and spary paint his toungue, I bet that will make him think twice. Just a sugestion...

Ciao

i live in western cranston... the nice section of cranston, buti was parked in the east side... the not so nice part of town.

Blake:

yeah, post some pics, i'd love to see your car after the drop and your other mods. i'm glad you got the struts ok.

but back on topic... i really wish i knew who did this, so i could kick some royal A$$, but i do not want to go point fingers, and the people i have in mind that would do this are unfortunetly alot stronger then i am, and also live in providence. (the worst neighborhood in RI) so he has alot of back. i am better off just freakin forgeting about it even though it is burning me up inside.

The spray paint is esentially that same thing as overspray. All Maxima's have a basecoat/clearcoat paint system. The damage done by the spraypaint is on the top surface of the clear coat. It will come off, but will take some time. If it was my car, I would do one of the following.

1) Buy a clay bar, spend about 10 hours cleaning it off
2) Goto a good detail shop, have them cut & polish your entire vehicle.

Here is the only problem, if the clear coat is rubbed to aggressevily, it will burn through to the base, leaving a real dull spot on your car.

Since the car is black, and very prone to swirl marks, I would take it to a professonal detail shop, or to a body shop. Your going to have to pay $200-$300 to get it removed, but this is nothing I would recommend for the amatuer.

Your other option is to call your insurance company. More than likely it will be considered a comprehensive loss (vandalism), and if polishing the vehicle will not resove the problem, it may require painting. Which adds up real fast.

Good luck, let us know the end result.
