You dont have to unhook the battery, just let the ecu adjust to the changes itself. Each time you start the car and drive a couple of miles the ECU senses the change. So give it a couple of days and you will really feel the true power of the y-pipe.

I have notice small gains going from 60-75mph. I am not gonna take it for a real spin until the roads are dry.

so i wont really notice the true difference for a few days? doesn't matter as long as I notice it.

I can definitly hear a difference. nothing loud, I have to turn off my radio to really hear it. a low growl/hum. when i give it some good gas so i got above 3100 rpm i can hear it better and a very slight hiss. thats normal right.. the hissing that is.

sorry i am tired and probably not making sense.. lol cya

NEXT STOP....UDP! anyone know a website where i can get one and the belts for it. i heard you need new belts when intalling the UDP

I just got a WS y-pipe. It made a huge improvement on performance. I too get that torque steer though. as far as the UDP, i think custom maxima sells the belt.

no you wont notice a difference for a few days. I couldnt notice anything at first, then a couple days later I step on the gas and WHOA! Right around 3000 - 3500 RPMs you feel the extra pull all the way to 5500 RPMs. Best $160 Ive ever spent on any car. Ever. I would of gladly payed $400+ for the gains for ma y-pipe.

custommaxima has the Unorthodox UDP as well as info on the belts to get.

there was a group deal on UDP from definitive, around 160 shipped with belts. I got mine there, no problems with it.

I am looking to get a Budget y pipe cause everyone on here praises them for the price. Do they not have a shopping cart type site? I didn't see one. Do you just have to order over the phone? Are they trustworthy? What price should the y pipe be(I think they are saying $250) And Mandrel bent is the way to go right?

I believe you can only order over the phone. As far as I know they are very trustworthy, people wouldn't be praising them if they weren't. And the $250 that is C.D. It is $180 US.

You have to order over the phone from budget, and yes they are reliable, for 180 bucks you get a fully stainless steel, mandrel bent Y pipe shipped to your door. It can take up to a month, but budget answered all my questions and gave me a tracking number. They are in canada as well so the prices on their website reflect that. GO BUDGET!

Thanks guys. I think I will go with them. I didn't realize that they were in Canada, for some reason. That would explain why I was wondering about the prices.
Thanks for the feedback, and I will keep you posted on the outcome of my y-pipe.

QUESTION: What does wrapping the y-pipe do? Is it neccesary? What do they wrap it with?

Its not necessary, wraping it just makes the exhaust gasses help from dissapating the heat so the exhaust flows faster....which is better. It doesnt come wrapped, but people do it also to help with the buzzing that comes from an aftermarket y-pipes

The night I put on my Y-pipe my friend calls me out to a bar. I go very dirty and low and behold meet my current girl friend (didn't see that coming.) We are now moving to Dallas and will be getting married. One of the first things she said to me was "nice car" I knew she was the one after that. She now drives a 2k2 maxima.

That was my first real mod to the max and one of the happiest days of my life.
