Crashed the max! :(

I was driving today and it was raining out, and I took a turn and I slipped and lost control and hit a truck. The corner on my car is ****ed. It looks like there wasn't any structual damage, but the bumper, fender, and hood are screwed up. And both airbags went off. Do you guys think that they will total it? It's a 97 GXE with 85,000 miles. If they do total it, I hope they give me a good amount of money because I have another car waiting. A 98 SE 5-speed loaded, leather, with 65k miles for $7k. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow. But really the only damage was the front bumper, left fender, hood, and left headlight, directional, and the airbags. What do you guys think the insurance company will do? Thanks, Steve

i did a similar move a month ago, prob a little more damage, and i hit two islands and a sign. mine was a 96 gxe with 96,000 miles. Ins company would have fixed the car, but airbags were too costly. The guy said approx 2,000 just for 2 airbags. Ins company gave me 6,200 after 250 deductable. Hope that it is totalled so that you can get a new ride. i purchased a 98 gle with 85K with my check from the ins company. So there is something to look forward to. Hope everything works out. One

Yeah, I doubt it'll be total'd but its hard to say until we see some pics. For some reason, the roads today around my area were terrible, besides the flooding I guess the falling leaves had a lot to do with it. I've driven in the snow several times and don't remember it being so slippery. My car was actually sliding a good 2-3 feet left or right at just about every turn, I was going like 35mph on the highway on my way to school.

I have a close friend who has an uncle who owns a volkswagen dealership. And his uncle is giving me a great deal on the car.

mine had front bumper, passenger fender, and both airbags deployed, and mine was totaled. I was quoted on airbag system for almost 3500 at body shop.

sorry, mine was a 95GXE though

could always help the sturctual damage along.....say with a sledge hammer?

Anywho.....unless you have full coverage, and not just collision.....then you are screwed.....

If you do have full, then you will get the lower sum for the car being toatled bersus the larger amount assuming that it was someone elses fault.......

hopefully, you should recieve about $5000+ for it form insurance...... best of luck

Could there be any way that if it isn't totaled, I could have the shop install a carbon fiber hood and z3 fenders instead of the oem stuff? And how do I go about doing that?
