This is for the stock foglights:
Do you like superwhite, blue, yellow, or stock?
Any reasons for your choice?
Do you think it's best to match the fog to the lowbeam?

Get green . Personally, I just like everything to match, no matter what color it is.

Superwhite for looks to match headlights...if you have superwhite headlights.
Superyellow lights for better visibility.

I like the way the Piaa platinum super whites look but match what ever your headlights are and try to match the low beams.

If you want to improve light performance >>

Stick with the standard clear bulbs or go with Hella Yellowstars or Philips WeatherVisions. Red and yellow light are on the lower end of the visible light spectrum and are not scattered by fog and rain (moisture). If you go with superwhites or riceboy blue bulbs, you'll end up wasting light due to reflection and refraction.

Stock

Stick to the stock ones. I had mine for a few years and then I put in some super whites. The super whites suck and burned out in less than 6 months. Since then, I've put back the stock ones.

Re: Stock

Were they 85 or 55 watts? (the ones that burned out)

Saying that superwhite lights suck because your lights burnt out is a pretty broad statement. It all depends on the wattage, the manufacturer, and if you touched the bulb.
Your not supposed to handle the bulbs because the natural oil on your skin will increase the heat on the glass housing, which decreases the bulb life.
If the bulbs were by a reputable manufacturer, there should be some type of warrenty with them.

For wattage you can go with 85watt bulbs, but I would recommend staying with the 55watt bulbs.

Mine were hi watt (85W); made by Hyper Industries. I think they're reputable enough. I have Hyper plasmas for my headlights. They've been working great. The fogs, on the other hand, are a different story. They run hot and I assume that's why they don't last long. I've never touched the bulbs during installation. If you go with standard watt, then you might as well stick with stock. The standard watt super white fog bulbs are NOT brighter than stock. Try them and you'll see what I mean. I've heard good things about the PIAA ones though. So if you're going to upgrade, better go with something with a little yellow and standard wattage.

IMHO: Stay away from all the Phillips/Eurolite/Apc bulbs they all suck compared to the PIAA Super whites. They give the best visibility out of all of them. As for the fogs im running PIAA super white 85watt h3's. Its like having a second set of headlights on at night and they math perfectly to the headlights. If you have the stock 97-99 fogs on your max go with 55watt to avoid melting of the plastic lenses. I have had the Hella Yellow Stars as well in 85watt, they look ok up close but the further away you get from them the whiter they look. They DONT resemble the Lexus fogs at all!! so its up to you.

Piaa 9004 - $65 (a pair)
Piaa h3's - $26 (a bulb)
Hella Yellow Stars h3's - $12 (a bulb)
APC,eurolite: $15-25 (a pair)

Aren't you more likly to crack the glass lense and melt the housing by going over the stock wattage?

You can get the Hella Yellow stars H3's in 55 watts for $6.50 each from Performance Unlimited in Ohio; their number is: 800.333.7862
I've had the 55 watt ones and they lasted over a year.

They sell the H-3 Piaa superwhites for $18.71 per bulb, plus they have Polarg bulbs too (which are great for the corners) I'm not sure how much shipping is though.

But the only online site is this one:

http://www.autooptiks.com/matrix.html

They call them AllWeathers...but they are the same thing. I currently have them in 9004...they don't look yellow when you are standing in front...but who drives from in front of the car right? The light they cast is yellow and that is what is important.
