Vehicle Speed Sensor and Cuise Control

First, I'll go with cruise control. Wierdest thing ... I've got cruise control on and I turn on my blinker ... cruise control goes off. Go figure. Anyone seen this and know a quick fix? It's not a big deal .. but I always use my blinker and whenever I forget NOT to use it while cruising it's just a little annoying.

Another (much more technical) question I have is about the Vehicle Speed Sensor I hear about from time to time. Does this measure the speed the wheel(s) are rotating at or the speed of the car? What is this measured in? MPH? Is there a sensor on our cars that measures braking force or decelleration? I'd imagine that something in the ABS system handles this measurement, but not really sure how all that works. I have an idea, but in order for it to work I need to be able to tap into braking force and set thresholds. Anyone?
