rattle from system
i wanted to put a system in my my max. not too much, probably a couple of 10s with a nice amp with the stock bose system. my only real concern is that there will be alot of rattling.
i had a civic before and had crazy rattle from everywhere including the spoiler and license plate. my bose speakers in the front doors in my car right now already make some unpleasant noises when i turn it up.
is there a way to install the system so there is less rattle without too much labour like taking things apart and foaming etc., or is the rattle inevitable?
also, i've heard that once you've had a system in your car for a while, when u take it out, a lot of your panels etc., are looser and will always rattle?
what do u guys think?

Not Much Rattle
I have 1 Rockford 12....and I get almost no rattling at all...except for the little buzz that Nismo is talking about. The thing is...when you use a sub.....if you replace the stock speakers too...then amp them...you can set the crossover on the speaker amp so they don't produce the low bass....they leave that to the sub (the way it should be) then, becuase you don't have the low bass coming from the door speakers...the doors won't rattle at all, plus you get the added bonus or better sounding high volume music!

thanks,
with 2 decent power 10s, how many watts of an amp should i look for for clean, crisp bass? and do the stock bose speakers, both front and back, come with any kinda amps hooked up to them, or can i get some nice small amp to make them sound even better? or am i better off just getting new speakers?

I wouldn't
touch the BOSE system, unless you are looking for amazing sound....the BOSE system with subs is pretty phat. But if you really want it to sound amazing, then you're going to have to start from scratch and rip the entire BOSE system out. I wouldn't recommend it becuase I've heard that it's pretty hard to get out...they put the speaker amps in wierd places I guess. Anyway, I didn't opt for the BOSE in my '97 SE becuase I knew that I would be ripping it out anyways....and now fully custom, I really love the way it sounds.

I dont think theres any way to deaden the trunk cause its the mechanism that locks it that causes the rattle. If you hit the part where the lid locks into(the plastic thing) then you will hear the noise that rattles. I tried stuffing it with rags but that didnt do anything. The only thing that I can think of is that expanding foam stuff.
