clutch recommendations

I am looking to get a new clutch and I wanted to get the maxima community's opinion. I am a very spirited driver. I drive hard when I want or feel like it and also I drive a lot. I plan on modifying my car, but not heavy duty mods.
Please any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm very happy with my ACT street clutch...its definitely made the car much more fun to drive. However, only get this clutch if you're planning on breaking it in right (300-500 miles). Additionally, know that while this clutch can handle a lot more power, it won't handle abuse anymore than the stock clutch. If you don't abuse your tranny then i'd say go for this clutch, you'll love how it grabs!

If you are not going to be heading towards the forced induction or n2o route then I would get an OEM nissan disc and pressure plate. I say that because If you are not going to be feeding the clutch all that extra power that it can handle it's going to be hell on your tranny. Let's say your new clutch can handle 30% more power, but you are not feeding it any more power. The clutch is then going to be 30% harder on your tranny. Instead of putting all that extra clamping force to the ground, it's going to put that force on your tranny.

you got a point there. but we have 3 different opinions here: act, exedy, or oem.

I'm getting a new clutch soon and I still haven't decided what to get.

I second this. If staying NA, go w/ OEM. If you plan to boost or N2O, consider the aftermarket options. The OEM clutch is plenty strong to handle all the bolt-on's.

DO NOT GET THE NISSAN "KEY VALUE" REPLACEMENT CLUTCH KIT. IT IS CRAP. YOU MUST SPECIFY NISSAN OEM & VERIFY PART #'S WHEN SHOPPING.

Give Me a Call

If you're looking to purchase original clutches and accessories (alway's new, never rebuilt) at true wholesale prices, you've come to the right place. Don't let our low prices scare you. Automotive repair facilities pay around the same price that we charge consumers and then they double or triple it.

Our clutch kits are original name brand clutch kits with the manufactures name right on the box.You know exactly what you're getting. Please don't confuse us with other companies that package clutch kits and claim there kits contain the same original components. You know better !

Select your vehicles manufacturer, model & year from the drop down boxes above, and then enter your vehilces engine displacement (optional) and click search. You have over 20,000 applications to choose from for cars & light / medium duty trucks.

Orders received by 4:00 PM EST are shipped the same day.We offer technical support Mon-Fri 8-5 EST

Ive said it time and time again...

All motor = OEM clutch...PERIOD...

S/C, Turbo, N20 = Exedy/ACT (they are the same clutch, just a different pressure plate)

You shouldnt have anything to decide about...

I won't post pricing out of courtesy to Clutch King, but I just received a quote by email & to say his pricing is "competitive" could well be the understatement of the year. If his service & intregrity match his pricing, he's going to be very popular around here!
