Finally got my AGX+Progress

I collected the KYB struts with dust boots and Progress Springs from customs today after alot of running around. The total cost came up to be more that I expected to pay but it only worked out to be slightly more than what I would have paid for original struts here in Trinidad.

The total cost worked out to be about 1100US after shipping to Miami then to Trinidad plus custom duties. It cost alot mainly because of the custom duties...it was 45% of the cost!!! I had requested that Cattman send the invoice directly to my home address instead of sending it with the package so that I could have lied a bit to the customs officer but they messed up and sent it with the package. That really sucked.

Well at least my parents are paying half the cost. I can't wait to get them installed. I usually finish school early on thursdays, so hopefully I'll get it done then. I'll post some before and after pics as soon as they're on. By the way, the adjuster on the struts goes from 1-8....what setting would you all recommend for a close to stock ride.Any other advice for the install is welcome.

I have mine on 3/6 and even in the COLD Colorado days we've had, it still rides great. 3/6 is awesome if you ask me.

Thanks for the info on the settings. I read that temperatures seem to make a difference so I guess I will have to test it here in Trinidad....temperature is usually around 85-95 degrees. Do you all think that using garden hose on the upper and lower spring coils is a good idea to prevent squeaks? I noticed on another post that someone suggested using helical split electrical wire wrap and/or clear vinyl tubing (1/2” inside diameter). Anyone has pics of these?

I've got the identical setup as you. I'm 3/5 on my AGXs. My springs have recently started squeaking so the helical split wrap is likely a good idea.

Helical split wrap? Where can you buy that? If you lived in the US you could of gotten some coilovers for that price.

I got my progress/agx combo installed a couple weeks ago. I bought it used off sil se and his friend. They did a great job at a great price. Anyway i love the setup, looks and handles nice. I tried 3/6 then bumped it up to 4/8 and still rides nice. I am keeping at 4/8 and even in the cold weather it didn't feel bad. Good luck and have fun

I hear Radio Shack stocks the stuff. I believe there's one product with an "inner diameter" of a 1/2 inch which allows the wrap to bind tightly against the springs' coils.
