my ECU reset screw is broke

my ECU reset screw is broke

how do i reset my ECU if the reset screw is broke was like that before i got it

should've returned the car, that would be the 1st choice. Just have to make sure that the screw was turned all the way counter clockwise, that way the car is running 100% power. To reset the ECU just disconnect the battery overnight...

My screw has broken also. A mechanic broke it. Now it doesn't stop anywhere. It resets but i still get a CEL from my drop resistor. Oh well. I guess i'll get a new screw with my ecu.

I remeber this happened to someelse here. They said they soldered a toggle switch in place of the screw.

Just woundering, I just goy my 96 se a few months ago, So should turn the all the was clockwise for more power?? or is it something that is already done at the factory?

If it's clockwise someone was checking for codes and didn't turn it back to the left. When mine is clockwise the car idles very rough and at very low rpms. When it's all the way CCW it's fine...

you can go to autozone ... i believe they rent out OBD sensors. you can reset it with that.

I'm not sure if they reset it. It's auniversal reader and I'm not sure it can reset the ECU. Like i said just disconnect the batter for 30mins or more...

i've tried the disconnecting the battery for 1 hour before it didn't work the reason i know was when i was cleaning my throtle body i disconnected the MAFS and turned on the car well i ran around with a CEL on for about 8 days then all of the sudden it went off so i think it reset it self or learned that it was fixed or something

the reason i'm posting to reset it is with every mod i was told you want to reset the ECU to learn the new HP gains
