put it on now, and get a video so I can laugh at you. Why did you exactly get a muffler? Don't tell me for power cause you're not getting any. Also post a link to the ebay auction, we need a laugh around here somewhere. Please tell me it wasn't a cannister, round one...

Well, I am not dead serious about flaming, but looks like that guy is a newbie and tries to mod his max, DON'T kill the spirit!!! Maybe that muffler would indeed not deserve appreciation from .Org community, but at least don't attack him right away...

Take care guys!

there are no bolt on mufflers on ebay, only bolt on mufflers we have cost $350 a piece. The stillen, hks(same as stillen) and others just taken from the whole cat back. You have to get it welded on. Which will cost maybe $50, as much as the muffler itself...

i had a universal on my maxima for 3 weeks. bascially my stock exhaust on my 95 was finally rusting through and i needed to pass the emissions so it was put on. it was deep sounding and wasnt all that bad. sort of raspy at WOT which i learned to disregard.

Now with a Full Apexi Cat back and now i know what DEEP really is. WOW... get a full catback if you can. that is the rich quality deep you want. not the burrrrrrrr that comes only out the back.

just my 2 cents.

oh, i am also running with a new carsound cat and s/s STillen F pipe as well

hehe

I bought my OBX catback off of ebay...(let the flaming begin)

I'd get you guys some GOOD sound clips that would do the catback justice, unlike some of the sound clips posted on here with a crappy mic....but I don't have ANY kind of digital or even analog recording device that's portable. That just sucks.

And for people that think that the OBX is quiet, THINK AGAIN. It's pretty damn loud when accelerating.

Also, if you have this exhuast, and drive on a highway alot, be prepared to either go 50mph, or 85mph, becuase anything in between that, and you will get some mild drone, especially in the 70mph range.

Maybe the guy does not have money to really buy a good exhaust system? Then again...why buy a muffler...should have saved to get an HKS,ApeXi.etc.

HKS what? There are no HKS cat backs for the max, only a muffler(stillen) and what's the point of buying a $350 muffler? Wait to get a catback...

get a cat back, OBX is cheap, but the piping is small. greddy SP is nice, but really expensive. and apexi is too quiet for most, but has 2.5 inch piping, and relatively cheap. would the obx 2.25 piping hurt performance that much?
