hey guys. This is a really open ended question. well questions. and i know that most of them have been answered at some time or another. The problem i'm having is not knowing what the good parts are, but what would be the best for my application. presently i have a 97 gxe auto that i am going to sell and get a new 5 spd 4 gen. I almost bought a 99 se 5 spd for $14 000(cnd) but that fell though, so now i'm still looking for what to get.

My goal is the get a car that will run a 5.0 0-60mph or under, while keeping it a good daily driver. I want this car to be as reliable as possible, and to avoid things like a super loud exhaust/intake.

so my questions are :

What year? keeping in mind that older models will allow for more money in modifications cause their cheaper, but might be in worse condition.

Depending on the first answer will determine my budget on performance parts, but i'm looking in the range of 10-12k cnd (7-8.5k US)

major and minor performance modifications? i am looking for some kinda of forced induction (turbo/sc) and i have read tons of pages on these, but i want to know which would be best with what year/budget, and what other parts would be needed, and other parts that would add to the setup. (ie exhaust)\
