lowering question
Hey guys I was wondering what I can do besides buying camber plates to adjust my camber. I already have my adjustable KYB shocks on and I am ready to buy some springs, I don't want to affect my camber because tires are like 800 dollars. I have soem 18 x 8's on and I wanted to know how low I can go before camber adjustment and what can I do to adjust my camber besides the stillen camber plates?

You can aslo buy the camber bolts from www.southwestautoworks.com for about 30 or 40 bucks. But it depends on your springs. I have sprints and didn't need to adjust my camber. I took my car for an aligment right after I lowered it and the camber reading were great. I sold the bolts I had for 20 bucks on ebay. I say if you go lower that 2" then you need them.

I went with KYB AGX and Progress springs all the way around. When lowering, you almost always end up with too much (-) camber and the wheels move toward toe out. Well I did anyways and have read of many others with same situation right after lowering. I rode for about 250 miles (about 2 weeks) like that and I already notice significant tire wear on the inside of my front tires.
When I took it to get aligned, I explained to the technician what I had done with the suspension, that it was lowered and that camber was not adjustable from the factory on the Max. I asked him if I needed the camber bolts he said "maybe not" and that he would take a look at it. He said he could get it in spec, did the alignment and everything came out great. Camber is normal again and adjusted to slight toe in.
Hope this helps.
