Do all alternators fit all 4th gens?

I've got a 95 Maxima SE with 133k miles and my alt is screaming. I found how to replace it on motorvate but don't know what all ones fit which years. Also, is there any other alternator that will fit in my Max without modification that would produce more amps? maybe like pathfinder one or something?

all 4th gens sould be interchangable. The ones that come with foglights from the factory have a slightly higher amperage than the base models.

I've heard that I30 alternators fit w/o modification.. not 100% on that one though, so if anyone is 100% sure on that one...

Well, not really. I have a '97 maxima and replaced my alternator with a '99 alternator and I had issues. The alternator size was the same, but the problem was with rotating circle that holds the belt. On the '99 alternator it had more or less "teeth" (i forget if it had more or less) then my '97 alternator. So after 2 altertantor belts were ripped to shreds within days of the install, I noticed this problem. So I had to goto a mechanic to have them remove the circle rotating thing on my '99 alt and replace it w/ the '97.

I've currently got an alternator from a 95 on my 99 with no problems at all.

all altenators 95-2001 maxima/i30 are interchangeble, exept that 95-99 are 125 amp and 2000-2001 are 110 amp. No difference in connectors or pinout of those connectors.

Isint it better if you have more amps, I heard your alternator recharges your battery faster or something.

yeah, the more amps the better. You can never have to large of an alternator (current wise)

There are 2 different alternators for 4th Gens. The higher amp alternators have a different pinout in the connector.

Are you shure? I had a SE alt in my GXE once when the 97 recall happened
