Finally!! Changed Knock sensor.

Yet another knock sensor story. I decided to change my knock sensor today after months of not doing it. I went into the How To's here and also used the Skippynet.com directions. In all...the only tools I used were a 12mm open end wrench and a small flat tip screw driver. My hands got a liitle scratched up..but not much...when I took out the old knock sensor and looked at it..it was cracked in two places!!!!No wonder I was feeling all the symptoms of a bad sensor. Anyway..I cleaned the ground screws and its area..torqued the new sensor in place and reset it the ECU. I took it for a spin...and felt a little difference..but I guess the ECU has to adapt in a couple of more days.

I drive the same way I always did except this time the car seems to be going faster. I have to change my driving style from very conservative to traffic causing bastard...

I'm also an average mechanical inclined person...I don't think you'll have any trouble doing it....it took me about 25 minutes to do...then again I have very small skinny hands...so it was not that hard. If you have big hands...it might take longer. Go for it..you will not regret it!

Hire a kid or your small handed girl friend to reach the KS.

It's not that's hard to change, it's just a pain to get your hand in there, but if you follow the directions on here you'll be fine. Mine sat for a while too, then I decided to put it in last tuesday.
