clicking in engine bay at first startup

my 96 gxe makes a pretty nasty clicking sound in the engine bay , but only on the first start up ,, what the hell is it , it must be bad. the car has almost 100 thousand miles. thanks

Knocking? You use 91+ octane gas?

Clicking or rattle? More frequent during cold weather? Does it do it when the engine is warm? If so, could be your tensioner. Live with it or fix it.
