WTF!!! My CRANKSHAFT Pulley is BROKEN!!! Pics Inside

Both my PS belt and Acc belt shredded in the same day. The thing they both have in common is the crank shaft pulley, so I go to inspect mine and the seal thingy looks cracked, I push on the bottom of the pulley, AND IT FREAKIN MOVED!! The damn thing is cracked all the way around. Where do I buy one of these to replace it, can it be fixed, and can I replace it myself? If so how. Here are some pics.

Yea, your looking at about $200-$250 for a new pulley, ~$75 from a junkyard

it seems like a great time to get a Unorthodox Racing Underdrive pulley.

What a strange occurance for that to break.

damn, if its that much for a new OEM one, i might as well get an light weight one or something. Do they only make Underdrive racing ones or can I get a lightweight stock one. I kinda want to avoid an underdrive one because I run a big stereo and need all the amps I can get. thanks for the replies

rare but it happens .... watch the tension on the belts if you get an oem replacement.. unorthodox is one piece so that should not happen.

you might as well replace the oil seal under the pulley when you fix it.

Yup thats the one that you want, or you can go OEM...it's up to you, make sure you get a new seal from the dealership, it's really easy to change, just pop it out with a flat tip screwdriver and pop the new one back in. Get the new belts from Autozone or someplace like that.

That's the rubber "isolater/dampner" ring that built into the pully. How old it is? Looks like it just rotted away?

I've got 2 extra stock crank pullies that I don't need. If you want a stock one PM me...

I read the How To in this forum and it said I have to lock the flywheel inorder to get the stock pulley off. Can't I just put a clamp on it or something to prevent it from spinning? Also, do all Nissan Dealer Ship have these seals or are they special order? I already have the part number from the How to. thanks

thanks for the replies people. The car has 135K miles on it and has been through a Michigan winter every year. I guess the salt/snow got to it or something.

Check your PM ejj.

I didn't have to lock my flywheel, I had help from some friends to help hold it. I didn't know you had to lock the flywheel so I can't help you there. I had to order the seal when I went in, it's about $8 shipped.
