Smoked headlight harness-here is why.
Smoked headlight harness-here is why.
I've had Nokya Artic bulbs in my headlights for a year. On each bulb, the female ground wire connector smoked where it contacts the bulb spade connector. If you install hotter than stock bulbs, make sure the connectors are very tight, and clean. You may have to use a fine pointed tool to get in there and bend the tabs together.
Mine actually burnt when I put the dimmer switch in between high and low positions so that both the high and low beams were on at the same time. I had seen some deer ahead, and wanted to light up the road. My harness lasted a year, and so have the bulbs. I was able to re-bend my connectors and scrape them clean, and they work OK now, but I am still going to replace the harness, since a cop walked up to my car when I pulled into a club and said "I've got some bad news". Whew! Was I glas he meant one of my headlights was out. I was able to fix it right then and I didn't get a ticket. Or a breathalizer test.
