sound like the chain, but i don't no if i need to change all the timing chain or just the tensioner. i have a 95 max.

 

more details would make the troubleshooting much easier ...
does it go away once the engine gets warm?
did you try to listen to various parts of an engine to pinpoint the location of the sound ?

I have similar sound - but it is an exhaust leak for sure somwhere is the ERG vaccum area
or it could be O ring from Budget Y-pipe not sealing corectly when cold , once it gets worm it expands thus creating tight seal

do some basic listening with long screwdriver next to your ear , than come back with results

If it goes away after startup - then it may be your starter. There are secret recalls on them (they replace repalce them for oyu at a discount!)

i just got this noise too, it was after a cold start it lasted 2 sec. it does not happen on warm starts. first time it ever happened. i use mobil1 and a nissan filter. what could it be?

Yep it almost always sounds like no oil pressure - like valves making noise. I had it for a while - only when it is cold - I took car to dealer - left it overnite - it is the starter.

 

should i change the oil pressure switch?
