The mesh part of my SMX grill has rust on it. I sprayed some clear coat onto the mesh when I first got it. I heard this would prevent rust from forming. I guess not. What can I use to get the rust off? And what to use to keep the rust from coming back again? How about using brake cleaner to get the dust off and wd-40 to keep the rust from coming back?

 

Use some Rustoleum spray paint. It will turn the rust into primer and they come in a variety of colors. Then use the clearcoat on top of that. I used it on mine and no rust!!
