Why is the e-brake light on?

Of course I know that when the e-brake is pulled that the light is on! but my e-brake isn't pulled and the light's still on...What does it mean? Is there a prob with the brake or it's the light that is broken?

Is that that the only light on? Could be the switch is stuck or your alternator is going bad. The e-brake light doubles as a warning light in combination with the battery light. Check the switch...if that's ok..check out your charging system.

You mean brake fluid for the e-brake(if that exist) or for the normal brakes?

Normal brakes. The parking brake is cable operated.

Yup, brake fluid. Check your pads too. If they're thin enough, the amount of fluid in the reservoir will be much less.

How do I refill the brake fluid? Is it a DIY job?

Yeah. Open your hood, find the brake fluid reservoir on the driver's side firewall. It's really obvious because it's on top of the master cylinder. Check the level, and if it's low, just add a little fluid. I think our cars take DOT3. It literally takes seconds.

Oh, I forgot. On my car, sometimes in cold weather, the parking brake cable would stick and cause my brake light to stay on. I would have to work the lever a little bit to trip the sensor enough so it would know the brake was no longer engaged. Only happens in cold weather on my car though. That may be your problem if your brake fluid isn't low and you've ruled out all other problems.
