Master key for all nissans

http://www.masterkeys.net/nissan.htm

Check it out. Says it'll work for all 92-97's .... I think it'll be a nice thing to have, especially if you have more than 1 nissan that you own. Anyone have any experience with these and how well they work?

hmm... I'd have to see that demonstrated. If that REALLY were the case, why would anyone ever break a quarter-window or tear up one of our cars to steal it?

you have to understand the way a lock works to know this is BS it will work on a few cars but the chances of it working on you car are as good as you sticking your key in ANY nissan it may be the same or it may be close enuff to pick the lock but this is just a scam trust me in a locksmith

Isn’t that illegal? I mean come on now, one master key that fit’s ALL Nissans? If they could sell that to the public, then I guess we are all in trouble for some one could just go around our cars, unlock them and drive away/take out all of our stuff out of our cars.

I do not believe this”master key”

auto makes in the US made lots of keys for there cars with 5 cuts to work the lock thats why you had 2 keys but with only 5 cuts on a key there are a lot fewer key combo Posabilitys thats why they got a hint from other car makers and most all cars have a 10 cut key system with 5 size cuts and 10 diffrent cuts per key ,with the old 5 cut system it was VERY easy to pick the lock with a key that has almost the same cuts

Hey darrick since your a locksmith, I've always wondered how master keys work. Not on cars, but in like hotels. The ones that still use mechanical keys. The maids have one key that works all the locks. A master key how does this work?

The locks in hotels/office buildings have a master key system that was done by a locksmith ,inside the lock it has 5 cylinders that has brass pins inside, a top pin and a bottem pin with a spring on top of the top pin .the bottm pin has a point so that it can slide ove the cuts in the key ,in each cylinder of the lock the locksmith installs a extra pin called a master pin this gives the lock 2 combonations that would open the lock.
for example most home home or office keys have 5 cuts on the key (look at your house key) now the cut on the key could be any number cut from 0 to 5 in depth so if you wanted to make a key work in a lock you could split the diffrence in the pins inside the lock, for example if a lock has a#3 bottom pin in it ,you could put a #1 bottom pin and #2 master pin in and that would = 3 then the lock would have 2 combomations
sorry my drawing sucks but mabe this will help you understand

Go to www.howstuffworks.com you can be much more informed about a lot of things icluding how master keys work. Here's the direct link for master keys: http://home.howstuffworks.com/question710.htm The section on lock picking will give you a good idea how some locks work in general. http://home.howstuffworks.com/lock-picking.htm

its the same , except the pins are shaped a little diffrent so they are next to impossible to pick and keys are not cut straight and the keyways ( the way the keys are made )are restricted ,you have to have a medico card to get the keys made , you will have to wait 2-5 days to get a extra key made its a well made lock but there are lots of more secure lock systems , medeco is more key control

Back in 92 I purchased a 88 max and when I was cleaning the interior I found a key with a red plastic piece on the top of it.I later discoverd it was a master key.I was able to open a friend of mind 87 max car door and also my uncles 93max.The key would not start either car.

As I have said there is always a chance your key will open a lock, because there are only so many combinations a key can have. Your key was just close enough (or the same as) to open the doors of the other cars if you tryed enough locks you could find MANY locks that you could open its only 5 of the 10 cuts that work in the door looks the other 5 work the ign, witch has 5 pins of its own then mix and match the 1st 5 with the 2en 5 and you get a lot more possible key combo's
