aftermarket gauges...Stuck on F

my fuel gage has been stuck on F ever since I put in my reverse ind. from Custom Maxima. The thing is when I am getting down to about a quarter tank (according to the tripodomter) the gauge will start to fall and when it gets close to 3/4 I know it is time to fill up...any one had this problem or know what could be causing this for me....If you need to know I have a 98 /manual. Thanks.

Your needle may not have been put back on the spindle properly or the needle is geting stuck on the gauge face due to the additional thickness of the gauges.

I never actually took the needle off when putting the gauge faces in...and since it does move once I have about 3/4 of a tank left I am guessing its not the thickness. Though I never did take the needles off I did pull on them trying to get the gauges over them....do you know how to tell the correct positon on the needle on the spindle? Thanks.

were you sure to tape the new guages to the old ones with double sided scotch tape? that could be your prob.
