This is a write up I made a couple of days ago, I wish i took more pic's. And I wrote this write up assuming that everyone knows how to get to their gauges.

Hasn't it been determined, over and over, that the 97 Maxima does not use 194 bulbs? I mean, which one is it? Does it take a 194 bulb or not? I am eager to install the LED 194 bulbs, but have read that some other guys bought these and when they went to install them, they didn't fit. I don't want to waste my money either.

Can someone on this board give an affirmative answer to this modification?

I am not sure of the cut off point... i thought it was only the 98-99 where the 194 does not fit... but once again, i am not sure. Also, i would not use LED's in place of a bulb... the way the whole thing is setup is that you have 5 bulbs. each bulb emits light, but the light does not go directly to the gauges. they have plastic "light tubes" that channel the light from the bulb to the gauges. the light tube does not go over bulb, it hover in the vacinity of the bulb. (2 inches away.) it is my belif, that since the led's emit light straight up, and do not project much to the sides then the gauges will look dull and spotty. i wouldn't use them.
