CEL P1447 - What to fix for EVAPpurge flow monitor fault?

I have a P1447 error code. I could not find anything on Maxima.org for P1447, however I did find the two below on Nissan Forums BB. Does anyone know what needs to be replaced? I'm guessing that it is the EVAP purge valve on the canister. The local Nissan dealer wanter $45 for the valve, but since it is electrical, I would not be able to return it. "Maybe you should come in and have a technician connected it to the computer to determine the exact problem and then let him fix it $$$." Well, that may work, but since I have access to a garage, I would just soon do it myself and save the money. Should I replace the canister as well?

KevLo911 - You may want to add these to your list.

P1441 - Vacuum cut bypass valve or circuit fault
P1447 - EVAP purge flow monitor fault

just buy purge valve (round orbit looking thing) and replace an old one. sometime they get cracked from inside or get too dirty. dont change the canister untill you see what happens first. good luck

Hi guys,

Please excuse my noobiness.

Sorry to bring back the dead; however I have this same issue and can't pass the emissions because of it. I would like to change the purge valve but I have no idea what it looks like. Please help.

Thanks.

Oh forgot to mention of what I've got.

I recently purchased a 97 SE Limited with 102,000 miles for $2,500.

Sensor's! Plural. Just find someone who has an O2 Bung, connect it to a 3/8 Ratchet, PB Blast the fawk outta the Bung and turn counter clock wise! Disconnect the electrical connection and install in reverse order.
