Desperate - Misfiring - Help
Ok, 0603 - Cylinder 6 misfire. Car is running very rough.
Changed plugs, OK.
Checked coil backs, OK.
Checked fuel injectors-#6 happened to be bad.
Had a problem w/ excessive gas burning out the exhaust. Fumes, white smoke, etc. BAD gas mileage. High pitch whining like a smoke detector sometimes at idle.
Changed bad fuel injector. Thought that everything was gravy. Drove about 10 miles it was great. 4 hours later, started car.. had trouble. Symptons return........

same thing happened to me, it was the wire connecting the cylinder to the ecu. a mouse chewed through my wire and resulted in cylinder 6 misfiring. until i get a new ecu tho, i am running on 4 cylinders. hopefully that wont be the case with you.

Forgot to mention, to test the injector from #6, assuming that was the one that was bad since it was a misfire in cylinder 6, we switched it with the injector from #2. This changed my misfire to multiple cylinder misfire. Then I got a multimeter and actually tested them.
