The bulb has two nubs, a higher (closer to glass) and a lower. The stock way to put it in is with the lower nub in the lower part of the socket (you'll see the two slots are different depths in the socket). To make them brighter, use nail clippers or something to clip off the upper nub and cover that part with a very thin and narrow piece of electrical tape. Then insert the bulb so what used to be the lower nub goes into the higher (or shallower) slot. Viola! brighter corners...

Oh, forgot to say, the 4th Gen How To sticky has a link to the VWPower write up that helped me do this mod: http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=50

Now all I have to do is get rid of this "I need to read the FAQ and IMPORTANT threads before posting a question" tag on my name!

Im having a hell of a time trying to pull the corner lights out. I unscrewed the one screw next to the headlight, tugged at the corner light but it won't budge. I don't want to crack it by pulling any harder. Should it be this hard?

first time for me was hard. Try spraying WD-40 where the nub is and get a flathead screwdriver and pry it out. It should help. First time i did it, it came out violently but perfectly.

if you look between the headlamp and the corner lamp down by the bumper and not where you removed the top phillips you will see a small ball and socket joint.. spray that with WD40 if you have any handy.. if you don't, aim good and spit a louie in there... hahaha j/k.. with a flat head screwdriver pry it a little bit and then pull.. it should come out no problems.

Um....

The corner light on the 5th gen IS the turn signal. It flashes. You dont want to re-wire it or turn the bulb around.
