Camshaft Position Sensor code 0101 ??

anyboby else ever tripped this code? i cut my car off to go to the ATM and went to turn it back on but nothing happened besides the starter turning & over and over but no actual start of the motor. i let it sit for about 5-7 mins and it cranked up fine and ran fine.. then i got the 0101 code. i was kinda low on gas but nothing out of the usual.

the sensor is located on the timing chain housing, towards the top and the middle. Takes 2 seconds to replace.

try cleaning the sensor before changing it. Clear the codes see if it returns.

Had the same prob...replaced it myself, the part was $80 at the dealer. Could have got it elsewhere, but I needed it pronto, and they were the only ones to have it in stock. Aaron

DTC 0101 is caused by the Camshaft Position Sensor (Phase). This sensor is located on the engine front cover facing the camshaft sprocket. It detects the cylinder number signal. The Engine Control Module uses this signal to control spark plug firing order and also to sequence the fuel injectors correctly. If the CPS is bad the ECM will fire the plugs at the wrong time, or not fire them at all. This would account for a no-fire symptom.

I think I got my sensor for $60 on the internet somewhere. It was Nissan-Car-parts.com or something.

It took about five minutes to replace.

When I had this problem, my car wouldn't start for 3 days then it ran fine for a week and crapped out. I pulled the codes and fixed the problem.
