i raced some exploerer and came home like 3 mins after the race. when i raced, i had like a 3 second burnout and i jumped over redline for split second. when i got home. the car smelt like burning oil. i smelt around and went to my trunk to get some stuff. even the trunk smelt like burning oil. i figure that when i burntout, the smoke from the tires just got in my car and thats whats makin it smell. is this right? does burning oil and burning tires smell the same? or could it be burning oil for jumping over redline? thanks

 

Burning oil and burning rubber have different odors. Check all your engine fluids. Exceeding the red line is not recommended.

 

i just went out to check my car, not fluids or anything, too dark, just for a smell. i popped the hood and couldnt smell any oil, not the slightest bit. so im assuming that it was just my tires, i have a bad nose. last time i had an oil leak and it burnt, i could smell the oil under the hood hours after my car cooled down. so is it an alright assumption that my nose was bad and not my engine leakin? i hope so.
