Fix one thing and find another (electrical)
So about 2 weeks ago I put in a new stereo in my 96 Maxima. While doing this it woudl be the first time I would take apart my dash and I have a feeling I did two things wrong becuase now my Heater controls will not light up. (The LCD still works but none of the controls). And the bigger pain in my butt is the fact that the cigarrette lighter/light in ashtray don't currently work so I can't keep my phone on charge.
I would find that the Cigarrette lighter had a fuse blown (15 amp) so I replaced it and still a no go. The only wiring I changed was for the stereo. I installed an Alpine 9815 and I am using rear amps so I only had to use like 4 wires maybe 5. (Postive, Ground, Illiumination, Ign on, 12v turn on lead to amplifiers). I am not using the internal amp if this makes a difference everything run by amplifiers in rear. And I did not hook up the second harness for the speakers. (you get two harnesses and since I am not using bose speakers no real need to clutter things this could be it.)
None of this is really big. I woudl rather have teh cigarette lighter working though becuase I do have future plans of putting blue LED's in the heater controls but one step at a time.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has some idea. Electrical troubleshooting is very frustrating as I have seen over the last week.
