Road Trip

My girl won a trip to Florida earlier this year and we were thinking about going in February. Since I'm not too thrilled about flying I thought we should drive one of our cars there. I drive a Max and she has a 2000 Malibu. I was thinking we should drive her car because its her trip and I don't want to put all those miles (2000 roundtrip) on my car. I also have a limited warranty that ends at 97000 miles. I have 80100 miles on the car now. It's a 17 hour drive from Maryland to Florida. Anyone know of any adverse effects from running the ca for extended periods of time?? Any input is appreciated.

No. No adverse effects whatsoever. Check oil and coolant level at every fill up. Never open a hot radiator cap. Visually check if the coolant level in the plastic reservoir is within the markings. You are all set. The drivers will wear out way before the car will. I drove from Montreal to Florida 3 times now. That is a 25 hour ride over 2 days. Bon voyage !

Change the oil before you leave and check the other fluid levels and the tire pressure. It'll be a great time to see what MPG you get on the highway
