after-market fog lights WIRING on 95 gle? PLEASE HELP..
Hey guyz....My question is how do i wire up aftermarket fog lights on my 95 max gle. On this board Somebody posted that it comes wired from factory and i was able to locate those wires on my car so how do i wire it up now? Are those wire already hooked up to the battery or is there anything else to be done? I want to wire it in such a way that my fogs turn on when I turn on my marker lights (next to the headlights). any info will be greatly appreciated. thanx.....
I'm not sure about the re-wire for the clearance lights, but I am sure that someone on this forum has posted about it.
About the pre-existing wires. You still need to install the relay in the relay box and make sure that the fuse is installed for the fog wiring, If I'm not mistaken.
Otherwise it should be good to go.
There also might be problems if you are going to be using a 3rd party switch (rather than the standard switch Nissan uses, attached to the existing light switch/turn signals). I'm not sure how you would go about getting the wiring from the steering column to the new switch for your fogs.
UNLESS you are using NISSAN's fog light kit...in which case there should be no such problem, becuase they give you the proper switch.

We just did exactly that on Ryan93se's 95 GLE this week.
Hw wanted them to be on whenever the clearnce lights are on too. There is no switch in the cockpit for this setup.
I'll try to explain it as best i can. You'll need an automotive realy and some decent 20ga or so wiring and a bag of butt- and very large ring-connectors. You can get all this at radio Shack.
I dont remeber the numbers of the terminals on the realy, but there is a wiring diagram on the package.
First, find the factory plugs on the factory wiring harness and cut the positive (orange) wire, leaving some slack. Then run a wire from the pos battery terminal to the appropriate relay terminal. Then run two wires from the opposite relay terminal to each positive fog light plug wire. Next tap a wire into the pos wire of your clearance light and run it to the appropriate relay terminal. Then run another wire from the opposite relay terminal to the neg battery terminal. then install the fogs.
Easy.
